Simone Biles
Simone Biles, a gymnast from the US, won her 20th medal in the world championships when Team USA won their seventh World title simultaneously at Antwerp Belgium's event on October 4. She is now the most decorated female gymnast in the history of gymnastics with 33 medals at world competitions and the Olympics. Biles had performed a vault that was so challenging it was the first a woman ever did on the international stage. The vault, initially referred to as the Yurchenko Double Pike, has changed its name to Biles II. In the final of her all-around event on the 6th October, this record breaking gymnast will take part in her first international competition following 2021. Simone was born in 1997 at Columbus Ohio Simone was taken away from the home of her mother's birth father who suffered from addiction. She was put in foster care together with her siblings.
